DON’T WORRY – I’LL CREATE THE SHAPE FOR YOU FREE!
I can cut a plate to any shape & if I don’t already have your template on file I’m more than happy to generate a template to fit any standard guitar or bass FREE! Yes, that’s right, completely gratis! Nada! Rien! Nowt! Why would we do such a crazy thing I here you ask – well, it’s simple, I’d really like to increase my library of plate templates & the best way for me to do this is to use the real McCoy! Oh, hold on a minute though, can I make this crystal clear: I mean a free TEMPLATE – not the actual plate! To clarify, I will create the correct shape for a standard factory model by using your original as a master template, which means you don’t need to worry if yours isn’t listed on the website because I’ll make it happen!
By far the most reliable way of ensuring an accurate copy of your plate is by removing your original & scanning it; simply scan as a 300dpi colour or greyscale photograph, & please scan with the BACK of the plate touching the scanner glass (don’t worry, I’ll digitally flip it so you don’t end up with a lefty if the original is a righty!) & place a piece of coloured paper between plate & scanner lid (which means the edges will show up nicely), save it as a JPEG & Email it to me at hello@gig.ink – if you don’t have access to a scanner then you may well find family, friends or colleagues can help, or a couple of quid well spent is to visit a local copy shop or printer & ask them to scan & Email it for you.
Additionally, by all means send us a good quality tracing of your plate – which means taking your plate off & tracing around it using a fine-tipped pen on white paper – ensuring you leave no white gaps around the perimeter – then simply pop that in the post to me, which I’ll digitally recreate.
You’re also more than welcome to post me your actual plate if you wish, which naturally I’ll return with your new plate.
Finally, you’re not limited to a direct replacement plate as I can produce your plate in any configuration you’d like – although please note that I charge an additional £10.00 for bespoke cutting – just let me know exactly what pickups & controls you’ll be using as pickup sizes & mounting positions do vary – but ultimately I can cut to any shape so we’ll get there!
